I'm sorry for my cultural ignorance. It is NOT Tibetan!!!! IT IS MONGOLIAN! Throat singing came from Mongolia! It irritates the fuck out of me when people say Tuvan or Tibetan. It's like saying to Russian that they are Polish just because they are similar race, which is slavic people. Tuvan people actually do practice throat singing most commonly although they go by Russian ethnic group. But definitely not Tibetan tho!!! You're probably confusing with Tibetan monks chant because they are sound similar.

Welcome to the first of many lessons that will gradually teach you to use Hungarian! This is the first of many videos that will cover the basics of the language, and will guide you towards understanding the fundamentals of this eastern European language. Here's the list of words used in the video, along with some extra information: A - Asztal - Table Á - Álom - Dream B - Bokor - Bush C - Cica - Kitten Cs - Csiga - Snail D - Dal - Song Dz - Dzadzíki - Tzatziki Dzs - Dzsumbuj - Muddle (Dz, and Dzs are usually used as a substitute in imported words with foreign phonemes that are pronounced the same way, like Jennifer - Dzsenifer, or Jazz - Dzsessz, or in the middle of Hungarian words like Edzés - Training.) E - Eső - Rain É - Ének - Song F - Favágó - Lumberjack G - Gomba - Mushroom Gy - Gyakorlat - Exercise H - Hagyomány - Tradition I - Isten - God Í - Író - Writer J - Jelbeszéd - Sign Language K - Kalamáris - Inkwell L - Ló - Horse Ly - Lyuk - Hole M - Magyar - Hungarian N - Nőstény - Female Ny - Nyíl - Arrow O - Orvos - Doctor Ó - Óra - Clock Ö - Öreg - Old Ő - Ősz - Autumn P - Piszkavas - Sling Q - Aquincum R - Róka - Fox S - Sarkantyú - Spur Sz - Szatyor - Plastic bag T - Tekintély - Authority Ty - Tyúk - Hen U - Unalom - Boredom Ú - Útvesztő - Maze Ü - Üres - Empty Ű - Űrhajó - Spaceship V - Vese - Kidney W - Wolfram - Tungsten X - Xilofon - Xylophone Y - Yamgyökér - Yam Z - Zivatar - Thunderstorm Zs - Zseb - Pocket Keep in mind: A - Á, E - É, O - Ö, U - Ü are completely different phonemes. I - Í, O - Ó, Ö - Ő, U - Ú, Ü - Ű however are just longer versions of the same sound. If you see the letter combinations: Cs, Dz, Dzs, Gy, Ly, Ny, Sz, Ty, Zs, remember, these have their own pronunciation and are indicated as separate letters of the Hungarian alphabet. Long consonants are usually indicated by doubling the lengthened consonant, like so: Ettél (you ate), kappan (capon), rokkantság (disability), mézzel (with honey) and so on. We will cover prefixation and affixation in a later tutorial. See you soon!

Transcript. There is a great land and it is called, Hungary! In the centre of Europe. Today I just want to cover a couple of really basic mistakes that Hungarians make in English. So, the first obvious one is with W sound like Window often sounds like Vindow. V. V. So really practice the different between W and V. It is not Vindow; it is Window with rounded lips. The next one that Hungarians have a real headache with is Th (voiced) and Th (unvoiced) sound. Th (voiced) tends to sound like D sound and Th (unvoiced) tends to like S. So really to make this noise correctly you need to make sure your tongue touches your teeth. And the last thing that Hungarians tend to do is with stress. Hungarians tend to put stress on every word on the first part of the word as you do in Hungarian, whereas English has stress all over the place (varied). It depends on the word. Just again, be really careful because it is quite an obvious mistake. This has been Charles Wood English Teacher. It has been a pleasure talking with you Hungarian speakers.
